... otherwise known as the Knotwork From Hell because of the vast amount of time and energy this has taken to design and paint!

Details of the knotwork I've posted [link]

Interesting points ... this is the biggest watercolour painting I've ever done and the first time I've used watercolour for knotwork purposes. Was fun.

The writing says "Hwær cwom mearg? Hwær cwom mago? Hwær cwom symbla gesetu?" or "Where is the horse gone? Where the rider? Where are the seats at the feast?". These lines are from the Anglo-Saxon poem "The Wanderer", which Tolkien adapted into his "Where is the horse and the rider?" poem.

Original is 38 x 50cm. And nicer than the scan, as always.

i had the OE poem on my syllabus this year, had a lot of fun trying to read it out loud. and this, this is beautiful, i wish i had this on my wall. and i'm awed by the amount of patience and precision it required.
Oooh, cool.
