Traditional Art
One thing that always inspires me is looking at old Celtic manuscripts, such as the Book of Kells, the Lindesfarne Gospels and the Book of Durrow. They are amazing works of art, and show incredible imagination in the way their letters and words are worked into pages that are also full of people and animals, plants and knotwork. They give me such inspiration about ways I could use colour, knotwork, and space on a page. I love making new pieces that have the "feel" of Celtic manuscripts. I like working out how different animals can be fitted into a Celtic style (especially dragons, and peacocks - like here!), and trying out new types of knotwork. I also like experimenting with new shades of colours that were not used in the original manuscripts. In general, I just love twisting Celtic ideas into more modern - and simple - designs, while trying to keep the atmosphere and ideals of my Celtic inspiration. |

Is Imagination dependent upon Experience, or is Experience influenced by the Imagination?
Good luck in the contest

The leading cause of death among film photographers is exposure.
Film photographers often suffer from mixed emulsions. ---horrible puns from my husband ~novispoon
